Here are some fond recollections of my own top surgery celebration. It wasn’t a fundraiser, but it was an awesome time with some excellent friends. Two of my friends even played a song they wrote for me, and it was one of the most beautiful moments ever. Here are the lyrics for your enjoyment:

Song for Morgan by C. Carnes and C. Kamm

There once were two towers
rising up from the ground
Make no Mistake,
these towers didn’t belong.
So Morgan said “Let’s Tear ’em Down!”
He knew they felt wrong.
You can be your own architect
You can write your own song.

My friend inherited a house when he was very young
but the design was not quite what my friend had in mind
so he rebuilt some parts to match what was in his heart

You can be your own architect
You can write your own song

There once were two egg yolks sitting in a pan
But Morgan said “Scramble those eggs! I am a Man!”
You can be who you want
You can write your own recipe
you can scramble your gender
what’s important is that you’re happy and free
